Visit to the Beaufort Hunt

On the 6th March I had the privilege of heading up to the Beaufort Hunt for their famous 'frantic Friday' meet.

This visit was a first for me and I was lucky enough to be mounted on one of the trusty hunt horses 'Dave' whilst somebody tried out my beloved Edison prior to purchase.

It was quite breath taking to be able to ride around the grounds of the famous Badminton Estate; it was absolutely beautiful and a joy to take in those famous cross country fences close up.

With a mounted field of 188 horses it was a busy day and I met faces from far and wide. Everybody was extremely friendly and it was lovely to hear some tales of the season from other hunts.

The highlight of my day had to be at change over for second horses when I got to see my number 1 boy Fergus in action. He was sold to the hunt for the huntsman Matt and he's taken to his new role like a duck to water. He was such a special horse who I owned from 2 years old until he was 8! He is looked after like a king by Margaret and the other staff at the stables for which I am eternally grateful.

Hopefully I might get back for another visit next season and see both Fergus and Edison in action :)
